How the count works
Only the 5 years before the date you sign the application count, and IRCC verifies your numbers against entry records. Days as a permanent resident count in full. Days lawfully in Canada before your PR date count at 50%, and no matter how long you were here pre-PR, that credit caps at 365 days, so at least 730 of your 1,095 must be PR days. Applying short, even by a few days, gets the application returned and costs months.
